Pennies for Power is a Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) customer funded program. The program is voluntary and a customer can enroll or dis-enroll at any time. The customers bill is rounded up to the next even dollar amount. The difference between the real bill amount and the rounded up bill is deposited in a CACS account monthly. All Pennies for Power Funds are used to prevent low-income BWL customers from being shut off. The average payment made to BWL on a client’s behalf is $202.
